U.K. trade envoy meets to discuss trade relations

Elmer Rustamov, governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, met Wednesday with a delegation from the U.K. headed by Charles Hendry, the prime minister's Trade Envoy for the country, to discuss the county's macroeconomic situation and trade relations.

During the meeting, Rustamov spoke in detail about stability in the country, thanks in part to reforms that the bank had taken, as well as the developments made in the banking sector, economy and in non-oil sectors.

Hendry noted his approval of the measures taken by the bank for the country. He praised the reforms recently enacted that allowed growth and stability in the financial sector of Azerbaijan. He also expressed that companies in the U.K. are more than willing to cooperate with Azerbaijan enterprises, specifically in the banking and numerous non-oil industries.

Both agreed that the cooperative relations between both countries were strong and that the expansion of trade opportunities would benefit both parties.
