The Media Consulting and Services (MC&S) company recently ranked the International Bank of Azerbaijan the country's top bank.
The bank handles most of the international economic affairs in the country and has been considered tops in Azerbaijan as far back as 2006, the MC&S website's statistics indicate.
In Moody's long-term local and foreign-currency deposit ratings, reported in April, the group rated the bank "E+" and noted that deposits in foreign currency and unsecured long-term borrowing are deemed positive and that its financial strength rating is in the "stable" category.
In May, a rating from Fitch indicated that in all areas, the bank is stable when it comes to foreign currency deposits.
Over the past two years, the bank has received awards for Best Bank in Azerbaijan from EMEA Finance Magazine, Global Finance Magazine and Banker Magazine.
The International Bank of Azerbaijan, with headquarters as at 67 Nizami St., Baku, consists of 35 branches, serving 887,712 individuals and 13,871 corporations, as of July 1.
