Bel Peka Paint to open plant in Vileika District

Iranian powder paint manufacturer Bell Peka Paints plans to open a plant in the Vileika District, Gennady Kostervich, deputy chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, said on Monday.

The 107,639-square-foot plant is expected to start production in August 2016. Once fully operational, it will be able to produce 11,000 tons of powder paint annually. The new plant is projected to create 360 new jobs.

The company has already taken on 20 percent of the start-up costs. It also will be seeking loans from Belarus and foreign banks.

Powder paint is used to coat metals, including aluminum. It allows for less paint and has a longer life, which makes it particularly in demand in Russian and European markets.

With the new plant, Bell Peka Paints will act as an official representative of Peka Chemie Industrial Co., one of Central Asia's largest paint producers.
