Rosatom seeking funds from Asian debt markets

Russian atomic energy producer Rosatom said on Tuesday that it is considering financing options within Asian debt markets.

The company would use the financing for foreign projects, which they have yet to undertake.

First Deputy CEO Nikolai Solomon stated that the company would not be in need of financing until 2015.

“We will be ready to hold talks probably in the next one or two months,” Solomon said. "We will borrow money abroad only when we need it to finance foreign projects."

In addition to international plans, the company will be taking loans from the Russian banking system to construct domestic nuclear plants. It is also considering attempting to gain funding from the National Wealth Fund.
