BelGee hopes to sell 3,000 vehicles in Belarus next year

After selling 2,000 vehicles domestically in 2014, BelGee said on Tuesday that it hopes to increase sales to 3,000 in 2015.

Between January and September of this year, the private joint-stock company sold approximately 7,500 vehicles. Of those 3,200 were sold in Russia and 2,300 in Kazakhstan, with the company's 10,000th Gelly SC7 rolling off the line to go to Kazakhstan.

The company is building a new production plant near Borisov and has plans for it to reach an annual output of 60,000 vehicles. When it becomes operational in 2017, 30 percent of the parts used will come from local sources. There are plans to increase that number to 50 percent by 2018.

BelGee was founded in 2011 and assembled its first vehicle in February 2013.
