Belarus considering joint plants in Siberia

Belarus officials said on Wednesday that they are considering a proposal to assemble agricultural equipment in joint plants in Siberia.

The move to build plants in the area would be strategic to both sides and encourage friendly relations politically and economically.

Novosibirsk Oblast Governor Vladmir Gorodetsky said joint production of tractors and other agricultural equipment is a prime chance for bilateral cooperation. The move would require Belarus to meet certain conditions in terms of investment possibilities.

“As for us, I believe we have created super conditions for investors,” First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said.

Belarus Days in Siberia, an exhibition of business from Belarus and the region of Siberia, concluded on Thursday. It included networking opportunities and led to many agreements.
