Results are in from the marketing campaign run by the Armenian branch of VTB Bank and Visa from July 20 to Sept. 30, the bank said Tuesday.
Cardholders within the bank's system were able to enter for a chance to win prizes by using their cards to make purchases at Armenian businesses. As a result of this campaign, card usage increased 50 percent and more people signed up for cards, increasing the number of cards 66 percent. There were an average of 10,000 Visa transactions per day during the campaign.
Prizes included 50 dram certificates, household appliances and two tickets to Malta.
"Bank Visa cards are able to make a wide spectrum of non-cash payments, and the cards are becoming an increasingly common way to pay for Armenia consumers," said VTB Bank CJSC General Director Yuri Gusev.
