Novosibirsk, Russia, Mayor Anatoly Lokot, during opening ceremonies of the National Belarus Exhibition in his city Tuesday, said joint assembly plants are a possibility in Novosibirsk.

Belarus' manufacturing of tractors and other agricultural vehicles are of a mutual interest for both countries.

“We can offer Belarusians joint companies, and here we can see a mutual interest,” Lokot said. "We have certain achievements in construction and mechanical engineering. The Belarusian side can be also interested in our scientific and technological potential.”

Lokot also noted that the quality of Belarus companies was preferred over companies in the West, and said that discussions with Belarusian companies already had started.
