Belarusian Oil Company, Lithuanaian Railways ink deal on oil product shipments

Lithuanian Railways recently agreed to ship oil products from Belarus to the Lithuanian seaport of Klaipeda for Belarusian Oil Company (BOC) for a three year period.

BOC and Lithuanian Railways signed the long-term contract during the Transport and Logistics Expo in Minsk on Oct. 7.

BOC Director General Alexander Demidov and Lithuanian Railways General Director Stasis Dajlidka signed the document for their respective organizations.

"We have been working on the contract for a long time," Dajlidka said. "Now we agreed on the concrete figures which depend on the volume.”

Dajlidka did not specify the volumes of oil products that are to be shipped during the three year contract term, but did say that shipments would be sent on a regular schedule.

The Transport and Logistics Expo was held from Oct. 7-9 and focused on road, rail and river transportation methods. Other topics included cargo packaging and handling, insurance, professional training and education.
