Speakers at the conference, which was sponsored by Nobel Oil, included Azerbaijan Ambassador to the U.S. Elin Suleymanov, America-Georgia Business Council President and Johns Hopkins University Professor Mamuka Tsereteli and Ayse Oge, an expert on international trade.

Suleymanov discussed the potential for economic investment and existing business opportunities, while highlighting the country’s role in creation of the region’s infrastructure project and in bringing businesses to the area.

"Regional transportation of goods will reach the next level in terms of time and quality as a result of BTK railway, the completion of which is expected in 2015. Direct flights to New York carried out by AZAL starting from Sept. 24 are yet another important development in the area of regional tourism and transportation infrastructure."

Tsereteli spoke about Georgia’s business and economic climate, describing Azerbaijan as a regional power player. He said that Azerbaijan had provided assistance to Georgia for projects like the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

Oge spoke about Turkey’s business environment and legislative activity in the country. She highlighted a joint project of the three countries – the BTK project.
