Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev recently signed a decree regarding the organization of the South Caucasus Pipeline Enlargement Project.
The decree organizes the implementation process of obtaining the property, use and leasing rights on land sites and other property objects. It also encourages efficiency and transparency in an effort to streamline services related to the transportation of Azerbaijan's natural gas to the world market.
The State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations, the National Archives and other relevant state ministries, committees and departments will provide technical and information resources for the project.
The pipeline extends from the Shah Deniz gas field to Turkey, and its expansion is part of the Shah Deniz Full Field Development project. It will include laying new pipeline across Azerbaijan and constructing two new compressor stations in Georgia, which is expected to triple the gas volumes exported through the pipeline to more than 70 billion cubic feet annually
