SOCAR, BP sign employee training agreements

SOCAR

SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state energy company, and BP, which operates major oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan, recently agreed to expand cooperation in human resources and workforce development.

The British company BP and SOCAR agreed on providing training to the domestic workforce at the Gobustan Regional Training Center, as well as a coordinated recruitment and appointment process.

Khalik Mammadov, SOCAR vice president for human resources, information technologies and regulations, signed an agreement with Huseyn Mammadov, BP-Azerbaijan vice president for communications, external affairs and security, to train hundreds of Azerbaijanis living in the settlements of Sangachal, Umid, Azimkend and Gobustan.

Mammadov also signed a memorandum of understanding with Leyla Novruzova, BP-Azerbaijan vice president for human resources, to regulate joint activities with the aim of rationally using the country’s labor resources.

The goal of the agreements is to further enhance cooperation between the two companies in utilizing local human resources for oil and gas sector specialities.
