The chief engineer of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) recently praised the quality of construction at the plant.
“We are happy with the level of works and the attitude of Belarusian builders," Pavel Bezrukov said during a media tour at the plant.
Representatives of OAO Atomproyekt are at the BelNPP construction site frequently and continue to conduct reviews of the power plant. Bezrukov said if needed the number of Atomproyekt representatives will be increased.
OAO Atomproyekt provides comprehensive planning for nuclear power facilities, scientific research and development of new-generation nuclear power technologies.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant will consist of two power-generating units with the total generating capacity of up to 2,400MW. The first power-generating unit is scheduled for launch in November 2018, with the second one commissioning in 2020. It is being designed using Russian-designed virtual nuclear power plant technology that meets all international standards and recommendations from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
