The Belarusian Delta Bank announced on Wednesday that the Continent Finance Holding company will invest $551 million into the economy.

The London-based company has selected Belarus as its sixth country to support with a direct investment of this magnitude. Other countries include Poland, Spain, Russia, Israel and England. The investment agreement will be facilitated through Delta Belarus Holding B.V., and the Delta Bank will determine which projects that this investment will be utilized for. According to the report, priority will be given to clients of the bank.

A deciding factor for Belarus receiving this investment was, according to the report, a favorable investment climate that fosters this kind of financing. 

According to a report from Reuters the Ministry of Finance is seeking to have a new financing program from the International Monetary Fund. According to the report representatives from the IMF are currently visiting Minsk and speaking with officials.
