The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) announced the winning banks in four categories aimed at promoting cashless payments in the country on Monday.

Banks were judged in categories: general cashless payments, cashless payments of economic entities, e-banking and e-trade development.

Bank of Baku was judged the top bank in general cashless payments and in cashless payments of economic entities.

AFB Bank took second place and Bank Respublica too third place in the general cashless payments category. The International Bank of Azerbaijan and Unibank took second and third respectively for cashless payments of economic entities.

Bank Respublika was named the leading bank in e-banking, with Bank of Baku and Bank Technique taking second and third respectively.

The top bank for e-trade development went to the International Bank of Azerbaijan, followed by Unibank and Kapital Bank in second and third respectively. 

Two new categories will be added this year: leading bank in contactless point of service infrastructure and leading bank in contactless payment cards..
